The much-awaited concert of the year “R3.0” of the one and only Songbird Regine Velasquez is almost here. The press conference for the concert took place on October 5, 2017 at The B Hotel in Quezon City.
It is all systems go for the 30th anniversary celebration of Regine Velasquez – Alcasid this October and the starry Songbird has never shone as bright as she does these days.
Regine sold out her anniversary concert tickets within only two days after these were made available. The show, titled R3.0 will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday, October 21. The massive demand for seats from thousands of fans here and abroad prompted Regine to agree to a second show which will be held the next day, Sunday, October 22 in the same venue. Tickets to this are expected to also sell out any time now.
Another proof of Regine’s enduring appeal is the fact that she came up with two big hit singles in a span of one month. These are her version of the Up Dharma Down song Tadhana which was released late last August and the new original titled Hugot, which came out only two weeks ago. Both are cuts from her upcoming album also titled R3.0.
One of the most awaited music releases of recent times, R3.0 is made up of three discs. These are Rise, which is made up of new compositions by local songwriters like Hugot by Michael Mendoza, Higher by Jimmy Borja and Skybound by Mayniell Dulay; Renditions, which contains old favorites that she usually perform in her shows like Tadhana, If You Go Away, Usahay and others; and the third disc, Reflections, has reworkings of some of her biggest hits like You Are My Song, I Can, Dadalhin, On The Wings Of Love and others.
Buyers of Platinum tickets to the R3.0 concerts will get a free copy of the special 3-disc commemorative edition of the album R3.0.

The R3.0 celebration also marks Regine’s return to Viva, the site of her many successes. It was at Viva where she recorded her first album in 1987, which included her first hit Urong Sulong and her first movie theme song, Isang Lahi for Gabi Na Kumander. This was followed by other hits like On The Wings Of Love, Dadalhin, Ikaw, and many more.
She made her mark as an actress in the Viva movie Wanted Perfect Mother opposite Christopher de Leon, which also gave her the big hit You Are My Song. This was followed by blockbusters like Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw with Robin Padilla, Ikaw Lamang Hanggang Ngayon with Richard Gomez for and Of All The Things opposite Aga Muhlach.
Regine had her first concert, produced by Viva at the Folk Arts Theater. She is now one of the country’s leading concert artists who performs all over the world. It was also with Viva TV that Regine made her hosting debut in the talent show Star for a Night.
All these and many more will be celebrated at MOA on October 21 and 22 with performances by Ogie Alcasid, Morissette Amon, Mark Bautista, Sarah Geronimo, Jed Madela, Lara Maigue, Jona, Julie Anne San Jose, Aicelle Santos, Erik Santos, Angeline Quinto, and other surprise guests.

The first ever Eddys Entertainment Editors’ Award took place last July 9 at the Kia Theater in Cubao. The father-and-son tandem Edu and Luis Manzano were the hosts of the event.
“Ang Babaeng Humayo” is proclaimed the Best Picture and its director, Lav Diaz, is the best director. Paolo Ballesteros once again bagged the Best Actor award while Vilma Santos got the Best Actress title.
Aside from the announcement of the winners, the audience was also excited to see artists perform on stage.
Team Real James Reid and Nadine Lustre opened the awards night through a song and dance number.
Couple Sarah Lahbati and Richard Gutierrez served as presentors.
Double Barrel stars Phoebe Walker, AJ Muhlach, and Ali Khatibi also presented an award. Their film Double Barrel will be showing on August 2 in cinemas nationwide.
“100 Tula Para Kay Stella” stars Bela Padilla and JC Santos were also presentors that night…
…as well as Cristine Reyes and Jodi Sta. Maria.
A performance was given by the much-awaited love team of Fangirl Fanboy, Ella Cruz and Julian Trono. Their film will be released on September 6.
Yassi Pressman and Arjo Atayde had a dance number too.

The Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo left Pampangeños stunned as she performed for the provincial leg of her sold-out concert, The Great Unknown.
Mostly composed of original songs from her album with the same title, Sarah G never cease to amaze as she sang for the crowd. Here's a jaw-dropping performance of her song, "Ikot-ikot."
On his Facebook page, Julian Trono, told his followers how he can't get over with the moment he shared the stage with Sarah.
