The first movie Bela Padilla has ever written proved to be a success in the country. “Last Night” is a dark romantic comedy featuring Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga.
The reception on the movie was good, especially because it tackles a socially relevant topic in the society today.
Bela shared her thoughts on suicide, the main theme of “Last Night”, in an interview with Inquirer.net.
“We have to acknowledge that people get depressed. We have to be empathetic and perceptive enough to discern when our loved ones can’t handle anymore … and when it’s time to help them. Because life is important.”
She clarified, ““Last Night” is a love story. The suicide element comes in because that’s what the characters are going through, but I’d like to reiterate that this is about how love can save you.”
Congratulations on “Last Night”, Bela! We’re proud of you!
