Award-winning actor and Bela Padilla's leading man in "Luck at First Sight,"Jericho Rosales, tells the press that he personally doesn't believe in luck.
In the Viva Films' newest offering, he plays the role of a gambler who has a strong belief for luck. But in real life, he is the actual opposite.
“To be honest with you, hindi ako naniniwala sa suwerte at bigat,” he says in an interview with PEP during a set visit.
“Hindi ako naniniwala sa bad luck at good luck. Parang for me, it’s some sort of discrimination.
“Parang, sa akin, ayokong i-welcome yung discrimination sa sarili ko.
“Kasi kung dun lang ako ha-hang out sa mga suwerte sa buhay ko, then the rest are ano...So, para sa akin, hindi ako naniniwala sa suwerte."
Furthermore, the 37-year old actor enthused: “Hindi ko kinokontra yung paniniwala ng ibang tao, but for me, it’s unfair.
“Kunyari, there’s an opportunity na dumating sa ’yo, pero hindi ka prepared for that opportunity, then hindi rin siya suwerte, di ba?
“You can’t call it naman bad luck, kasi parang dina-down mo naman yung sarili mo, your ability to be blessed. Hindi naman puwede yun, di ba?"
Moreover, he related that he believes in prayers more. "I don’t really believe in luck.
"I believe... okey, it’s a good chance, but it’s still kung ano yung puwede mong gawin dun sa chance na ‘yon.
“And when I pray, I pray for blessings, I pray for opportunities. Mas nagpe-pray ako.
“Humihingi ako ng opportunities—more than the project itself, money itself, or the object itself.
For me, opportunities, dahil ang personality ko ganoon.”
