Number Five. Who wouldn’t applaud the outstanding performance of the two promising stars Judy Ann Santos and Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo? Direk Wenn Deramas had consummately mixed and matched the real life personality of the two, bringing it to the silver screen. Known for her tear-jerking roles in movies such as “Magkapatid” with the Megastar, Sharon Cuneta, Judy Ann extended her heart to continue pursuing the dramatic side in Hating Kapatid. Her love match with JC De Vera hit the “serious/dramatic mood” in the movie. On the other side of the coin, Sarah’s flexible character had given her the confidence to turn into a bubbly, simple girl waiting for love to take her away from problems. This lady had already made it to the Blockbuster arena with her movies "You Changed My Life" and "A Very Special Love" whom she had won the Box-Office Queen title. If Hating Kapatid make it to the ramp of blockbuster hits, surely, Sarah will be a queen for the third time.
Number four. This is the Pop Star Princess’ only movie for this year. She will be rearing more on her concerts at the second half of the year. For now, fans are rejoicing because Sarah Geronimo’s role in the movie is what they mostly want to see from her, a simple lady, with lots of humor.
Number three. Speaking of funny moments, the whole cast had gained a family bond within the set. Their relationship had gone strong even behind the camera. This relationship had manifested a strong intact that can be effectively seen in the movie. Juday and Sarah endured emotional attachment, making them real life sisters. The inborn comedians, Vice Ganda and Ms. Gina Pareño added the funny thrills in the movie. They had portrayed their roles well and comically inviting. Known for his one liners and funny hits, Vice Ganda relentlessly infected humor to the whole story as he portrays the maid of Rica (Judy Ann Santos) and Cecilia (Sarah Geronimo). Gina Pareño led a glamorous grandmother role in the movie. The two sisters were left in the custody of their grandmother when their parents (Cherry Pie Picache and Tonton Gutierrez) left Philippines to work in Libya. The collaboration of the casts were well picked and managed.
Number two. Love teams. After knowing that Judy Ann Santos and JC De Vera will be paired as a tandem, many had been speculating that the pair up would not be that effective. But as soon as the movie was released, their tandem had proved that there is chemistry. Every appearance of JC De Vera brightens up the screen. Likewise, the love team of Sarah Geronimo and Luis Manzano adds spice to the movie. Luis shared chemistry on screen with Sarah as he butts out cheesy lines and witty moves. He shared his life to Cecilia with the comical scenes of his life.
Number one. Family matters. This family-oriented film had brought up concerns pertaining to family relationships. Every Filipino could relate to this film as Hating Kapatid showcases the relationship with OFWs and lives of Filipinos left for abroad.
