On Sunday Movie Marathon, see a string of blockbuster movies by “Hotshot Directors”, starting at 1:30 pm.

On August 1, the late actor-director Eddie Rodriguez is immortalized in his directorial films starring the brightest stars. Rudy Fernandez and Sharon Cuneta are two contrasting characters forced to be together due to a murder case in “Kung Kailangan Mo Ako”. Christopher de Leon, Keempee de Leon and Vina Morales are all entangled in music, drugs and love in “Sana ay Ikaw Na Nga”. Cesar Montano plays “Markadong Hudas", a hatchet man who reveals his soft side when he falls in love with the daughter of his big boss.

Catch Director Joel Lamangan’s early films on August 8. First comes his directorial debut, ‘Darna”, with the sexy Nanette Medved as the most beloved sexy Filipino superhero. Next is “The Sarah Balabagan Story”, the harrowing story of this Pinay OFW in the hands of her employer. Then, it’s drama and romance with Sharon Cuneta and Richard Gomez in “Ngayon at Kailanman”. Sharon plays an heiress who lost her inheritance to Richard, and to get it all back, she agrees to marry him.
Enjoy a supply of laughter from Direk Ben Feleo’s films on August 15. “Where D’Girls Are” brings together Rapper-comedian Andrew E. and the TGIS gang in this tale about poor boys falling in love with rich girls, and what they have to go through to get past the girls’ super strict aunt. “Wooly Booly”, starring Jimmy Santos, is a fantasy about an alien stranded in planet Earth who falls in love with a human. “Weyt a Minit, Kapeng Mainit” shows Janno Gibbs and Blackjack disguising themselves as women who end up in a training institute for Japayukis.

On August 22, witness three tear-jerker movies by Leroy Salvador. In “Pati Ba Pintig ng Puso”, Gabby Conception lures Sharon Cuneta into marriage so he can save his sister from the asylum with her help. In “Pangarap Na Ginto”, Dina Bonnevie, Dawn Zulueta and Timmy Cruz play old friends who initially try to cover up their personal problems, but learn that the truth will set them free. In “Tinik Sa Dibdib”, Nora Aunor is superb as a young woman who marries in haste to escape from her family of parasites only to experience graver ordeal with her in-laws.

Finally on the 29th, see why Bb. Joyce Bernal has become one of today’s most celebrated directors. “Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw” stars Regine Velasquez as a singing sensation kidnapped by a fan, Robin Padilla, who introduces her to the ordinary life she has been missing. Bad Boy teams up next with Sharon Cuneta in “Pagdating ng Panahon”, where he proposes marriage to her. But the Megastar starts to live a more exciting life that Robin finds difficult to match. “Pangako Ikaw Lang” pairs Regine Velasquez and Aga Muhlach as two people who are very compatible, but are afraid to take their relationship further.
