His face and his wit are his passage to where he is right now. Vice Ganda, the resident judge of “Showtime”, a noontime show of ABS-CBN will be setting off for the meantime to unwind and reflect. His successful launch in Showtime gave him the will to pursue more his career in hosting. In an interview with him, he assessed that everyone needs to replenish and recharge to bring out more his or her creative juices.
The comedian acknowledges the unique talents who joined Showtime. Their pieces are unexplainable and overflowing. He has now come to the point of slowing down to recharge for more witty hits. Before Showtime, he was known in various comedy bars.
Although his appearance is always on the light, he just dwells on it and takes it as a compliment. This asset made him the star in the remake of “Petrang Kabayo”, an 80’s film which was first starred by Roderick Paulate. Paulate played the role of Petra in "Petrang Kabayo at ang Pilyang Kuting" in 1988 and "Petrang Kabayo 2: Ang ganda-ganda mo" in 1990.
Vice Ganda was entrusted to do a remake of this film with the direction of Direk Wenn Deramas. In an interview with him, he said that his appearance turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Petrang Kabayo was renown because of Vice Ganda’s popularity nowadays. This will turn out to be a sure hit since Vice Ganda is known for his one-liners and hard-hitting jokes.
He shivers whenever he thinks of starring in the film. We all know how effective Roderick Paulate acted on the role. This served as his inspiration. He first joined show business years ago, featured more than once in movies such as the record-breaking movie, Hating Kapatid, Apat Dapat, Dapat Apat and much more. Now, he didn’t expect that he would be starring in a movie.
“Petrang Kabayo” is a story of Petra who was cursed into a horse because of his bad behavior. He will only return to his normal state if he treats people well.
As of the date, the shooting of Petrang Kabayo is on going.
